IIReading:
Football is, I believe, the most popular game in England: one has only to go to one of the important matches to see this. Rich or poor, young or old, one can see them all there, shouting for one side or the other.

To a stranger, one of the most surprising things about football in England is the great knowledge of the game which even the smallest boy seems to have. He can tell you the names of the players in most of the important teams; he has pictures of them and knows the results of large numbers of matches. He will tell you who he expects will win such and such a match, and his opinion is usually as good as that of men three or four times his age.

Most schools in England take football seriously—much more seriously than nearly all European schools, where lessons are all that are important, and games left for the children themselves. In England it is believed that education is not only a matter of filling a boy’s mind with facts in the classroom, education also means the training of character; and one of the best ways of training character is by means of games, especially team games, instead of working for himself alone. The school therefore plans games and matches for its pupils. Football is a good team game. It is good both for the body and the mind. That is why it is every school’s game in England

Cancer is among the top killer diseases in our society today and scientists have found out that stress(紧张)helps to bring it on. It is worthwhile to consider, therefore, what are the causes of stress in our life, and whether we can do anything about them.
Are we under-employed, or overburdened with too many responsibilities? Do we have a right balance of work and leisure in our lives? Are our relationships with family, friends or fellow workers all they should be?
All these things can be a cause of stress, and it is best to face them honestly, and to bring our frustrations into the open. People who have a good row and then forget it are doing their health more good than those who bottle up their feelings.
If our self- examination has brought any causes of stress to light, let us consider what we can do about them. It is possible to change jobs. We can make more leisure and fill it more happily, if we will accept a different living standard. We can improve our personal relationships by a different attitude. It is we who allow other people to make ourselves unhappy. Often the little things that disturb us are not worth an hour’s anger. The teaching in the Bible “Let not the sun go down your wrath(愤怒)” is good advice from the health point of view as well as the religious.

Dream (我的梦想)
When I was a child, I learned from TV dramas that one might realize his dream if he prayed to the full moon sincerely. One night when I looked out from the window, I saw the full moon hanging in the sky. I recalled the TV dramas, so I immediately prayed to the moon: may the world be peaceful forever. I even said my dream twice, afraid that the moon would not hear me. Now I smile at my childish behavior, but I still cherish the dream I once said to the moon. World peace might sound a bit ridiculous as an individual dream, but that has been and is still what I sincerely hope for
