Biography
I will introduce the writer Dazai
Osamu(
太宰治
). But, Dazai Osamu is his pen
name. His autonym is Tsushima Shūji
(津岛修治
)
He is the most eminent
representative of Japanese rascal faction
literature.
Dazai Osamu is a famous writer
who enjoy the same reputation as Yasunari
Kawabata(川端康成) and Mishima Yukio(三岛由纪夫)in
japan’s postwar years.
Then, I will give a
bref introduction of his lifetimes.
He was
borned in a wealthy landowner’s family in 1909 at
Aomori Prefecture
(青森)and died in 1948 at
Tokyo Mitaka(东京三鹰).
Dazai's father was a
polician into the House of Peers. So Dazai's
father absent
during much of his early
childhood, and his mother died early,thus Dazai
was brought
up mostly by the family's
servants.
The most knowned keyword of his
life is calles him the died
most Japanese
writer.
December 10, 1929, first suicide
attempt, but survived.
Because in 1927,
the writer Ryūnosuke Akutagawa committed suicide
which
shocked him a ma started to dabble with
Marxism,which at the time was
heavily
suppressed by the government. He frequently
expressed guilt in his earliest
writings about
having been born into an incorrect social class.
So disappointed was he. Then he choosed death,
but survived.
In October 1930,
Tsushima ran away with a geisha (艺妓)named Hatsuyo
Oyama
(小山初代)
and was formally expelled
from his family. Nine days after the
expulsion, Tsushima attempted suicide by
drowning off a beach in Kamakura with
another
woman, 19-year-old bar hostess Shimeko
Tanabe田部目津子. Shimeko died,
but Tsushima lived.
In 1935, he tried his third time
suicide. At that time, it started to become clear
to
Dazai that he would not graduate, and he
failed to obtain a job at a Tokyo newspaper
as
well. He finished The Final Years, which was
intended to be his farewell告别to
the world, and
tried to hang himself March 19, 1935, failing yet
again.
In 1931, he finally married with
Hatsuyo Oyama.小山初代.
In 1936, Dazai took
sleeping pills with his wife due to her betrayal
during his
illness, but neither one died, so
he divorced her.
In 1938 He quickly
remarried, this time to a middle school teacher
named
Michiko Ishihara (石原美知子). They had three
babies. One of them became a
famous writer
under the pseudonym Yūko Tsushima (津島佑子).
In 1948, Always a heavy drinker, he
became an alcoholic,and his health was also
rapidly deteriorating恶化.
On June
13, 1948, with Tomie, Dazai finally succeeded in
killing himself. He
drowned in the rain-
swollen Tamagawa Canal near his house. Their
bodies were not
discovered until June 19,
which coincided with his 39th birthday. His grave
is at the
temple of Zenrin-ji, in Mitaka, day
their bodies were founded is called
Cherry
Memorial Ceremony(樱桃忌). In this day, his fans all
over the world would
