On the evening of June 21, 1992, a tall man with brown hair and blue eyes entered

Some years ago I took on a task in a southern county to work with people on public
welfare. What I wanted to do was to show that everybody has the capacity to be self
sufficient and all we have to do is to activate（激励）them. I asked the country to pick up a
group of people who were on public welfare, people from different racial groups and
different family groups. I would then see them as a group for three hours every Friday. I
also asked for a little petty cash to work with, as I needed it.

I said to the man who did the work, “How do you feel?”
He said, “Well, you know, it’s very funny thing. I’m beginning to feel a lot better.”
That helped the group to begin to dream. These seemingly small successes allowed
the group to see that dreams were not insane. These small steps began to get people to
see and feel that something really could happen.
Everyone found something. The man who put in the screen door became a
handyman. In 12 weeks, I had all those people off public welfare. I’ve not only done that
once, I’ve done that in many times.

Google on Tuesday said it reached a settlement in a group action suit（诉讼）against
the search giant over privacy breakings related to its Buzz socials networking program.
In the settlement, Google agreed to pay $$ 8.5 million into a fund （基金）for privacy
education the company made clear that the agreement did not include cash payments to
users.
Buzz, started last February as an application within Gmail, in some cases exposed
the lists of persons touched and other data of users to other Gmail users.
How did the company warn users that they were included in the settlement? By Gmail

“Google rarely inform Gmail users via email, but this time we let you know that we’ve
reached a settlement regarding Google Buzz,” the firm said in messages sent to its U. S.
users. Some analysts think the company has 170 million Gmail users worldwide.
“The settlement acknowledges that we quickly changed the serviceto address
users’concerns,” Google wrote.
Google said that everyone in the United States who uses Gmail was included in the
settlement unless they decide to take no party before December 6, 2010. On January 31,
2011 the U. S. distriet Court for the Northem District of California in San Jose will hold a
fairness hearing on the settlement.

Is Recycling Textbook a Good suggestion?
On behalf of our group, I’d like to give a brief summary of our discussion on the topic
“Is Recycling Textbook a Good Suggestion?” As we know, when high school students
graduate from school, their textbooks are thrown away, which are still in good condition.
What a great waste it is!
A suggestion has been put forward that we should recycle the textbooks. Some
students in my group agree to this suggestion. For one thing, recycling textbooks can
save a lot of natural resources, which are used to make textbooks. And it can also save
plenty of family expenses. For another, in western countries, recycling textbooks is very
popular and it gives us a good example. But some have different opinions about it, for the
content of the textbooks are often renewed. What’s more, it is not proper to make notes in
the textbooks.
But in my opinion, this is a wonderful idea because this will do good to both the
government and the families.
