除了上文提到的用介词作后置定语外，还可用 分词作后置定语，原文“好奇心驱动的研究”译成research
driven by curio sity，使用过去分词作后置定语。根据分词与前置词间的关系，有时也使用现在分词，如
第二个题中 “跨世纪发展”被译作development extending to the new century 。使用现在分词还是过去
分词，关键看前置词与分词之间的逻辑关系，主动关系译作现在分词，被动关系 译作过去分词。

词，将这种逻辑关系表达出来。译文增加了while贴切表现了这一对比。如：车未停稳，请勿上下。Nev er

比较一下原文和译文我们可以发现两处词的添加：

得到人生最大安慰to derive the greatest comfort from burdens of life < br>译文对原文进行了推敲，并根据译者的理解作出相应的添加，表达出原文中隐含的意思。乍一看，“善养” 、
“浩然”、“气”三词都很难找到对应的译文，根据上下文弄明白原文表达的实质意义，即“提升一种 高
