丁：Good afternoon, everyone! We are the pro
side.
All of us should seize opportunities to
reach our goals and gain
success. When it
comes to success, luck can mean being in the right
place
to meet someone, or having the right
skills to get a job done. If there is no
opportunity for you to perform yourself, you
won’t be promoted even
though you really have
excellent talent. As a result, we think that
opportunity and luck are the keys to success!

蒋：Good afternoon,
everyone! We are the con side. We insist on that
hard work is the key to success. Both hard
work and luck are the
important factors to
success. But we are discussing which one is more
important. Firstly，(seeing from the side of
philosophy, )the inside factor
is the most
important to develop everything. Hard work is the
inside
factor, so it’s more important.
Secondly, we must set up our goals in the
first instance, and we can hold the
opportunity and achieve to success
through
personal hard working. So we believe hard work is
the key to
success, thank you.

邓：If a person does meaningless
favor without any opportunity and luck,
he is
also a failure. Luck and opportunity can bring
hope of success.
Every famous people are
successful by opportunity and luck. If you have
no chance to perform, you are likely to be
ordinary all your lifetime. So I
want to ask
how can you succeed by efforts alone?
马：If we can’t succeed only by efforts, we are
less likely to get success
only by luck.
However, efforts can bring luck and opportunities.
Let us
see our daily life，A hard working
employee can be trusted by his or her
supervisor, and heshe may become the company's
manager in the future.
In other words, hard
work can give us good fame, which can help us to
be
trusted by other people, especially by
those leaders.

everything. When opportunity comes, the lucky
people have no preparation for it and he can’t
be competent for the work.
In this condition,
no matter how lucky he is, he can’t succeed. Then,
I
want to ask without any personal
endeavor(努力) how can a man be
successful only
by luck?
丁：We say that luck is more
important than hard work to success, and we
don’t mean that luck is the only factor
.Opportunity and luck are the
premise
of all the other factors. If there are no
opportunity and luck, even
if you have talent,
you can’t get a stage to show yourself.
邓：Luck
is not something that we can control, but being
lucky really
helps in achieving success. Many
great inventions and discoveries came
about
through a lucky mistake or a lucky chance. One of
the biggest
lucky mistake is Columbus’
discovery of America .He enriched his
sponsors
and changed history, but he was really looking for
India. In this
case , we know that lucky can
play the key role in success，don’t you
think
so?
马：However, Columbus’ discovery was
not pure luck. It was backed up
by years of
studying and calculating. He worked hard to prove
his belief
that the earth was round. Actually,
it was his hard work that made him
succeed.

Thanks for the good debating of con side. We
insist on our view that the
luck is more
important than hard work. Hard work is important,
but not
the key factor of success. Hard
work can improve the personal ability. It
makes us advantages of catching the
opportunity. So hard working is for
getting
the opportunity. It means that there is no
opportunity and there
will be no success. In
short, though one person’s success mainly depend
on his or her hard work, tenacity, creativity
and some other things,
however, to some
extent, luck will help a person to succeed in some
cases.

opinion that hard work is key to success and is
more
important than luck. Success depends on
knowledge and hard work. you
can get whatever
you dream of if you work hard enough. Even if you
may
fail sometimes, you are bound to succeed
someday if you stick to your
goals. Remember,
your fate lies in your own hands, your future also
lies
in your own hands. As long as you put
your heart into your work, you
will realize
all your dreams. It's diligence, not good luck
that can bring
