（三）说明文
基本知识
1.说明文以说明为主要表达方式，用来说明事物、阐明事理的一种文体。它通过揭示
概念来说明事物的 特征、本质及其规律，给人准确的科学知识或正确的思想。说明文一般可
分为实体事物说明文和抽象事物 说明文。词典、教材、实验、报告、产品说明书、广告、解
说词及科学小品文等都属于说明文范畴。
2.说明文出题形式分为图表型、图画型、提纲型三种。

I am very glad to read your letter. To meet your request, I’m telling you everything I
know about how Chinese people usually spend the Spring Festival.
To celebrate the Chinese New Year, it is a custom for all members of each family,
married and unmarried, to gather at their parent’s house. Adults in the family all work
together to make a special kind of Chines food----dumplings, while small children play about
in the house. Fireworks and crackers begin to explode here and there, which usually lasts
hours. Then a special meal of dumplings starts and the whole family stay up for the night,
chatting and playing games.
During the nest four days, quite a lot of people visit Chinese temple fairs, which is quite
like Carnival in the West. Some families go to places of interest for a visit throughout the

Today, my friend Mei told me about her tough situation. She has never been in such a bad
mood before. Her mum is suffering a serious kidney illness. Just like a bolt from the blue, the
severe blow adds burden to her as a girl from an average worker’s family, whose financial
situation is not good enough to cover the medical expenses.
As her best friend, I am ready to give her a hand. First, I would like to suggest that our class,
even the whole school, have a fundraising event for financial support. Then, the school

Noise pollution is now a major problem in developing cities. As is shown in the pie chart,
there are a series of causes for noise pollution. Noise from transport occupies the most, with a high
percentage of 75%. Next in line is construction, which takes up 14.4%. It is then followed by
noise from society and public areas, with a percentage of 5.6% in all. Other sources take up 5%.
These figures are very alarming, as they are mostly common things that we can see and hear
everywhere in daily life.
Despite such negative circumstances, noise pollution can be reduced if each person makes
their own effort. Therefore, with a little more effort from the government and citizens, we can turn
noise pollution into a worry of the past. For example, if you must drive your car, try not to honk
every time another car has overtaken you. For those who are having a party, turn down the music
and inform your neighbors. At night, try to keep your voice as low as possible and avoid walking
around noisily.

All in all, noise pollution is one thing that doesn’t require decades to improve. In addition to
the government’s actions, we can contribute our own efforts to making our city a more
comfortable place to live in.
