High Speed Train
This is the fastest running
for long distance in China, the top

G打头的是高速列车这是中国长途列车中运
行最快的，最高
速度可达350公里时。汉语说高铁，全称是高速铁路，英文
说High
Speed
Train，翻译过来就是高速列车，意思都是一样
的，不过就是表达不一样。
C – Intercity EMU
This is also the fastest
kind, but runs for short travel distance
between two nearby cities, such as the
120-kilomter's
Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railw
ay.C打头的是城际动车
（Intercity：adj，城市间的）这也是最快的那种，但运营区<
br>间间隔较近，例如北京到天津就有总里程120千米的城际列
车。下面EMU来了：

– Electric Multiple Units (EMU)
This type is
also called Hexiehao (和谐号, Harmony) or bullet
trains in China. The designed top speed is
250kmh. They have
been widely used for serving
fast and frequent transport between
main
cities, such as Beijing-Shanghai, Shanghai-Suzhou
and
Shenzhen-Guangzhou.D打头的是动车：也就是EMU（也叫

车。。）这种车也叫和谐号或者子弹头列车，时速最高250
千米。京沪、京苏和京广等地之间广泛使用

）以上三类，C、D和G打头的都是属于
CRH系统的，就是你坐动车看到的这个标志：
再科普下：CRH（China Railway High-speed)，即中国高速铁
路
，是中国铁道部对中国高速铁路系统建立的品牌名称。通
常用来指2007年4月18日起在中国铁路第
六次铁路大提速
后开行的动车组列车。简单点说就是，这仨都叫动车，只是
高铁
是更快的动车，城际是短途动车。
所以最开始我们听到的列车广播是，welcome aboard
the high
speed emu train.
还有几个除了动车的列车：
Z – Direct ExpressZ打头的是直达车
This type with
a top speed of 160kmh is also an efficient

some stops on the way. On the other hand,

are equipped with only soft-sleepers and soft-seat

T – Express（特快）
This kind has
limited stops on the routes, mainly in these major
cities. The highest speed is 140kmh. Almost
every T-series is
equipped with soft-
sleeper,soft-seat, hard-sleeper and hard-seat.
K - Fast（快）This series with a top speed of
120kmh has more
stops than the T ones.
Ordinary Fast（普快）
The numbers are
identified with four digits and usually start
with 1, 2, 4 or 5. Its highest speed is
120kmh but runs slower
than the K-series as a
result of more stops on the way.
L –
Temporary（临客）
This series is in operation only
during the peak travel time, such
Chinese
Spring Festival and the National Holiday. They
will not
be listed in the official fixed
schedule. It is not advised to take
this type
if you have other options as they are routinely
subject
to delays.
