一、教学目标
1.
能够在教师的引导下,借助图片和其他阅读策略读懂本单元的故事,回答B,
C两项的问题。
2.
能够通过阅读Smith一家人的圣诞节活动,了解更多有关西方节日的庆祝方
式和习俗。
二、教学建议
读前活动
1. 教师播放音乐,请学生齐唱圣诞歌曲:We
Wish You A Merry Christmas!
2. 教师问学生:What do
you know about Christmas?
3. 学生四人一组,展开讨论并回答。
4. 教师向学生介绍:Christmas is the birthday of Jesus.
During the Christmas, there
are three
important days, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and
Boxing Day.
读中活动
1.
教师请学生打开课本快速阅读一遍故事,初步感知文本主要内容。
2. 教师说:This is a
long passage, but we can divide it into four
parts. The 1st part is
about a week before
Christmas. How about the 2nd, 3rd and 4th part?
学生回答:
Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, the day
after Christmas。教师带领学生在故事中标注出
四个部分(the 1st
part: 图一〜图三;the 2nd part: 图四〜图五;the 3rd part:
图六〜图
七;the 4th part: 图八)
3. 教师分配小组任务。学生四人一组
,组内每人负责在一个时间段的圣诞活动
下画线并承担相应的介绍任务(三〜五句),同时组内成员互助
学习生词,如:decorate,
wrap, stocking, at the bottom
of等。
4.
学生以小组为单位,向组员汇报Smith一家人在圣诞季四个不同时段的活动,
如:S1: It’s
a week before Christmas. The Smith Family ... S2:
It’s Christmas Eve. First,
they ... S3: It’s
Christmas Day. The family ... S4: It’s the day
after Christmas. The Smith
family ...
5.
学生听录音默读故事,进一步理解故事内容。此时教师可带领学生进一步复
习生词,如:
decorate, wrap, stocking,at the bottom
of等(通过图片、英英互译或举例
说明的方式理解生词)。
6. 学生在小组内朗读故事,
或者全班学生接龙读故事(一人读一段,前一名学生
读完后选择后一名学生继续朗读)。
读后活动
1. 教师请学生看B项的几个问题,并尝试回答。教师及时订正。
2.
教师说:Christmas is the most important holiday in
western countries. What
holiday is the most
important in China? How do Chinese people
celebrate Spring Festival?
Let’s think and
talk. (C项)
3. 教师向学生提出三个问题:What do people do
beforeonafter Spring Festival?
请学生自主选择并回答。
4. 教师及时把学生的精彩回答以思维导图的形式记录在黑板上,帮助学生掌握
更多有关春节
的英文表达,如:
5. 教师询问学生:What is your favourite
holiday? And why?
6. 教师布置作业,让学生制作“My Favourite
Holiday”的思维导图(图文并茂)。
Tip:教师可向学生简单介绍西方国家最主要的三个节日:Easter,
Thanksgiving, Halloween,以便让学生进一步了解西方文化。
•Easter: Easter is always on a Sunday. It’s
maybe in March or April. Easter is a
time for
coloured eggs. The egg is a symbol of new life.
Easter egg games are famous.
One of the Easter
egg games is the Easter Egg Hunt.
•Thanksgiving: In the United States,
Thanksgiving is celebrated on the 4th
Thursday
of November. Thanksgiving is a time to give
thanks. It’s a time for holiday
meals. People
eat turkey, pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes and com.
People say “Happy
Thanksgiving!” to each
other.
•Halloween: Halloween is celebrated on
October 31st. It’s a time of ghosts and
witches. On Halloween, some people
dress up as ghosts, witches and other scary
characters. On Halloween night, children go
door to door asking for sweets. People
like to
make jack-o-lantems. At night, they put them
outside their doors.
