An Oral English Test will be
included as a part of the College English
Test. Is a Oral English Test Necessary ? This
is a hot discussion for a
long time . And ,
how do you think ? People's opinions are always
utterly
divided.
Some people think
that it is necessary .First of all , English is
an international language and they believe
that this language will become
more and more
important in China .Secondly, good at English
makes you keep
pace with the times and is a
beneficial preparation to go abroad in the
future.
However, other people stand
on a very different ground. They would
rather
spend more times to study major subjects.
In my point of view, my answer is positive. In
conclusion, everybody
wants to choose the
answer that most benefit to them. So, it is a
great
benefit for me to choose a positive
answer.

A test of spoken English
will be included as an optional component of the
College
English Test (CET). Many people
believe a test of spoken English is necessary
because spoken English is an important part of
the language. Only when one speaks
fluent

language. So a test ought to be

assess one’s ability in spoken English.
However, some people think that a test of
written English is enough and a test of
spoken
English is not necessary. They hold that one’s
ability in English can be
shown in a test of
written English and a test of spoken English will
add to the burden
of students.
I
believe it is of great importance for every
foreign-language-learner to speak the
language
with fluency. A test of spoken English will
stimulate(s) students to
improve their oral
English. So a test is necessary. And I intend to
take it sit (for)
the Spoken English Test
(SET) if possible.
