美式英语与英式英语单词拼写区别
1)英国英语单词中不发音的词尾 -me, -ue
在 美 国 英 语 拼 写 中 被

2) 英国英语中的以 -our 结尾的单词, 在美国英语中删去了不发音的字母
u。
如: behaviourbehavior( 举止、行为),
discolourdiscolor( 褪色), labourlabor(劳动)等。
3) 英国英语拼写字母 ae 或 oe, 在美国英语中仅留发音元音 e。如:
anaemiaanemia( 贫血
症),aeoneon(永世),
aestheticesthetic(美学的)等。
4) 英国英语拼写字母 -ll-,
在美国英语只写-l-。如: chillichili(干辣椒),

等在英国英语中往往只有单写 l。而

5) 英国英语词尾是辅音字母加 -e,
而美国英语词尾是辅音字母。
如: axeax( 斧), blondeblond(亚麻色的)等。
6) 英国英语用 -eable、-ement, 美国英语用-able、-ment。如

7) 英国英语中以 xion 结尾的词, 美国英语常以 tion 结尾, 例如:
