When I was in middle school, I told my parents
the only thing I wanted for New Year was
a
suitcase(手提箱)
You may think upon reading,
that we were a family who traveled regularly. We
weren’t.
The only true family vacation we took
when I was a kid, was when my parents packed up my
brother and I and drove from Maine to Florida.
I was 4-year-old and when I try to think back
on this time, only vague (模糊的) photos surface.
Though our spring breaks were not filled
with trips to Disney, I do credit(把…归功于)
the
women in my family with inspiring my love for
travel.
Sometime after the Florida trip,
my mother and her mother (Nana), took my brother
and
me to Arizona. Again, this trip has little
influence on my memory.
Way before
cellphones existed, somehow, Nana and I got
separated from my mom and
brother. We searched
a bit but couldn’t find them
So we did what
anyone would do when pressed for time and,
actually lost: We got ice
cream. I’ m not sure
if it was because of the ice cream, but at that
point, any fear I had died
down. My mom
remembers finding in a fancy jacketand having us
called, but
Nana and I didn’t hear it over the
passing chatter and shoes clicking against the
floor. Or again,
maybe it was because of the
ice cream. By chance, as Nana and I stood there
eating our ice
cream, the responsible members
of our party found us.
Nana hardly ever
traveled; she didn’t have the traveler s instinct
(本能) that comes with
navigating crowds. My mom
wasn’t happy when she happened upon us; actually,
she was
really frightened. Now, we laugh at
the memory as if there was never any
backlash(激烈反应)
of “what-if”.
66. What
does the author think of her trip to Florida?
A. It cost her a lot.
B. It made her exhausted.
C. It brings her
sweet memories. D. It leaves little
impression on her.
67. What can we learn
about the author?
A. She loves traveling
because of her mum and Nana
B. She enjoys ice
cream better than anything else.
C. She has
traveled to many places.
D. She has a terrible
memory.
68. How did the author's mum find her
and Nana after they got lost?
A. By looking
for a fancy jacket B. By making a phone
call
C. Just by shouting.
D. Just by chance.
69. How does the author
sound when telling the story of her separation
from her mother?
A. Curious. B.
Terrified. C. Humorous. D. Cautious.
70. What can be inferred from the last
paragraph?
A. The mother was excited to find
her mother and daughter.
B. The author could
have found her way back easily.
C. The
grandmother had a good sense of direction
7
D. The family argued about the
separation

选项。
选项中有两项为多余选项。(共5小题,满分10分)
71 One of the
best things you can possibly do is to start you
own club. It's
great fun especially if you are
the sort of person who feels there's never
anything to
do during the school holidays.
The first thing you need to come up with
is an idea for your club. _72__Pets,
clothes
pop music or dancing groups sports making things?
The list is endless.
Next you need some
friends to be in your club with you. 73 All you
need is
three or four other people who are
interested in the same thing as you.
74
You should all sit down somewhere together with
lots of pieces of paper
and write down every
name you can think up. That'll keep you busy for
ages.
At your first meeting you should make
up a rule book and the first rule should
be no
grown-ups or littlebig brothers or sisters! The
best clubs are always secret!
Now you have
just about everything you need, except membership
cards.
These are very important and again you
can speed a lot of time making them. 75
Why
not leave some space for a photo o yourself? That
will make the membership
card really look like
it.
So there you are, get clubbing! Once
you get started you'll think of loads of
more
interesting things to do!
A. That's easy.
B. Enjoy your own club!
C Invite a
designer to join you.
D. What are you
interest in?
E Some vacation is just
around the corner.
F. Then you need to
pick a name for your club.
G. Use a bright
thick pen to make a special design.
