Solomon’s Proverbs (part)
所罗门王的箴言(摘)
Proverbs is a collection
of wise sayings and good advise for daily living.
Book Proverbs in the Bible has total
of 31
chapters, chapter 1 to 29 came from King
Solomon. Agur and Lemuel wrote the last two
chapter.
箴言是一组日常生活的智慧的言语和良好的劝导。圣经里的箴言篇共有三十一章,
一到二十九章为所罗
门王所写。最后两篇为安格和勒缪尔所写。
Prov.1
箴言第一章
[1] The proverbs of Solomon,
son of David, king of Israel:
[6] For the LORD
gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge
and understanding;
因为耶和华赐人智慧,知识和聪明都由他口而出。
[7] he stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is a shield to those who walk in integrity,
他给正直人存留真智慧,给行为纯正的人作盾牌,
[8] guarding the
paths of justice
and preserving the way of his
saints.
为要保守公平人的路,护庇虔敬人的道。
[9] Then you
will understand righteousness and justice
and
equity, every good path;
你也必明白仁义、公平、正直,一切的善道。
[10] for wisdom will come into your heart,
and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul;
智慧必入你心,你的灵要以知识为美。
[11] discretion will
watch over you; understanding will guard you;
以色列王大卫儿子所罗门的箴言:
[2] That men may know
wisdom and instruction, understand words of
insight,
要使人晓得智慧和训诲,分辨通达的言语,
[3] receive
instruction in wise dealing, righteousness,
justice, and equity;
使人处事领受智慧、仁义、公平、正直的训诲,
[4] that prudence may be given to the simple,
knowledge and discretion to the youth --
使愚人灵明,使少年人有知识和谋略,
[5] the wise man also
may hear and increase in learning,
and the man
of understanding acquire skill,
使智慧人听见,增长学问,使聪明人得著智谋,
[6] to understand a
proverb and a figure,
the words of the wise
and their riddles.
使人明白箴言和譬喻,懂得智慧人的言词和谜语。
[7] The fear of the LORD is the beginning of
knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and
instruction.
敬畏耶和华是知识的开端;愚妄人藐视智慧和训诲。

Hear, my son, your father's instruction,
and
reject not your mother's teaching;
我儿,要听你父亲的训诲,不可离弃你母亲的法则(注:或作“指教”),
[9] for
they are a fair garland for your head,
and
pendants for your neck.
因为这要作你头上的华冠,你项上的金链。
Prov.2
箴言第二章
[1] My son,
if you receive my words
and treasure up my
commandments with you,
我儿,你若领受我的言语,存记我的命令,
[2] making your ear attentive to wisdom
and inclining your heart to understanding;
侧耳听智慧,专心求聪明,
[3] yes, if you cry out for
insight
and raise your voice for
understanding,
呼求明哲,扬声求聪明,
[4] if you seek
it like silver
and search for it as for hidden
treasures;
寻找它,如寻找银子;搜求它,如搜求隐藏的珍宝,
[5]
then you will understand the fear of the LORD
and find the knowledge of God.
你就明白敬畏耶和华,得以认识 神。
谋略必护卫你,聪明必保守你,
[12]
delivering you from the way of evil,
from men
of perverted speech,
要救你脱离恶道(注:或作“恶人的道”),脱离说乖谬话的人。

箴言第五章
[21] For a man's
ways are before the eyes of the LORD,
and he
watches all his paths.
因为人所行的道都在耶和华眼前,他也修平人一切的路
[22] The
iniquities of the wicked ensnare him,
and he
is caught in the toils of his sin.
恶人必被自己的罪孽捉住,他必被自己的罪恶如绳索缠绕。
[23] He dies
for lack of discipline, and because of his great
folly he is lost.
他因不受训诲,就必死亡;又因愚昧过甚,必走差了路。

箴言第六章
[16] There
are six things which the LORD hates,
seven
which are an abomination to him:
耶和华所恨恶的有六样,连他心所憎恶的共有七样:
[17] haughty eyes,
a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent
blood,
就是高傲的眼,撒谎的舌,流无辜人血的手,
[18] a heart
that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to
run to evil,
图谋恶计的心,飞跑行恶的脚,
[19] a false
witness who breathes out lies,
and a man who
sows discord among brothers.
吐谎言的假见证,并弟兄中布散纷争的人

箴言第十章
[1] The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son
makes a glad father,
but a foolish son is a
sorrow to his mother.
所罗门的箴言:智慧之子使父亲欢乐;愚昧之子叫母亲担忧。
[2] Treasures
gained by wickedness do not profit,
but
righteousness delivers from death.
不义之财毫无益处,惟有公义能救人脱离死亡。
[3] The LORD does
not let the righteous go hungry,
but he thwarts the craving of the
wicked.
耶和华不使义人受饥饿;恶人所欲的,他必推开。
[4] A slack
hand causes poverty,but the hand of the diligent
makes rich.
手懒的,要受贫穷;手勤的,却要富足。
[5] A son
who gathers in summer is prudent,
but a son
who sleeps in harvest brings shame.
夏天聚敛的,是智慧之子;收割时沉睡的,是贻羞之子。
[6] Blessings
are on the head of the righteous,
but the
mouth of the wicked conceals violence.
福祉临到义人的头;强暴蒙蔽恶人的口。
[7] The memory of the
righteous is a blessing,
but the name of the
wicked will rot.
义人的记念被称赞;恶人的名字必朽烂。
[8]
The wise of heart will heed commandments,
but
a prating fool will come to ruin.
[2] When
pride comes, then comes disgrace;
but with the
humble is wisdom.
骄傲来,羞耻也来;谦逊人却有智慧。
[3]
The integrity of the upright guides them,
but
the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them.
正直人的纯正必引导自己;奸诈人的乖僻必毁灭自己。
[4] Riches do not
profit in the day of wrath,
but righteousness
delivers from death.
发怒的日子,资财无益;惟有公义能救人脱离死亡。
[5] The righteousness of the blameless keeps
his way straight,
but the wicked falls by his
own wickedness.
完全人的义必指引他的路,但恶人必因自己的恶跌倒。
[6] The righteousness of the upright delivers
them,
but the treacherous are taken captive by
their lust.
正直人的义,必拯救自己;奸诈人必陷在自己的罪孽中。
心中智慧的,必受命令;口里愚妄的,必致倾倒。
[9] He who walks in
integrity walks securely,
but he who perverts
his ways will be found out.
行正直路的,步步安稳;走弯曲道的,必致败露。
[10] He who winks
the eye causes trouble,
but he who boldly
reproves makes peace.
以眼传神的,使人忧患;口里愚妄的,必致倾倒。
[11] The mouth of the righteous is a fountain
of life,
but the mouth of the wicked conceals
violence.
义人的口是生命的泉源;强暴蒙蔽恶人的口。
[12] Hatred
stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.
恨,能挑启争端;爱,能遮掩一切过错。
[13] On the lips of him
who has understanding wisdom is found,
but a
rod is for the back of him who lacks sense.
明哲人嘴里有智慧;无知人背上受刑杖。
[14] Wise men lay up
knowledge, but the babbling of a fool brings ruin
near.
智慧人积存知识;愚妄人的口速致败坏。
[15] A rich man's
wealth is his strong city; the poverty of the poor
is their ruin.
富户的财物是他的坚城;穷人的贫乏是他的败坏。
[16]
The wage of the righteous leads to life, the gain
of the wicked to sin.
义人的勤劳致生;恶人的进项致死(注:原文作“罪”)。
[17] He who
heeds instruction is on the path to life,
but
he who rejects reproof goes astray.
谨守训诲的,乃在生命的道上;违弃责备的,便失迷了路。
[18] He who
conceals hatred has lying lips,
and he who
utters slander is a fool.
隐藏怨恨的,有说谎的嘴;口出谗谤的,是愚妄的人。
[19] When words
are many, transgression is not lacking,
but he
who restrains his lips is prudent.
多言多语难免有过;禁止嘴唇是有智慧。
[20] The tongue of the
righteous is choice silver;
the mind of the
wicked is of little worth.
义人的舌乃似高银;恶人的心所值无几。
[21] The lips of the righteous feed many, but
fools die for lack of sense.
义人的口教养多人;愚昧人因无知而死亡。

箴言第十一章
[1] A false balance is an
abomination to the LORD,
but a just weight is
his delight.
诡诈的天平为耶和华所憎恶;公平的法码为他所喜悦。
[7]
When the wicked dies, his hope perishes,
and
the expectation of the godless comes to nought.
恶人一死,他的指望必灭绝;罪人的盼望,也必灭没。
[10] When it goes
well with the righteous, the city rejoices;
and when the wicked perish there are shouts of
gladness.
义人享福,合城喜乐;恶人灭亡,人都欢呼。
[24] One
man gives freely, yet grows all the richer;
another withholds what he should give, and
only suffers want.
有施散的,却更增添;有吝惜过度的,反致穷乏。
[28] He who trusts in his riches will wither,
but the righteous will flourish like a green
leaf.
倚仗自己财物的必跌倒;义人必发旺如青叶。
[30] The fruit
of the righteous is a tree of life,
but
lawlessness takes away lives.
义人所结的果子就是生命树,有智慧的必能得人。
Prov.12
箴言第十二章
[1] Whoever loves discipline
loves knowledge,
but he who hates reproof is
stupid.
喜爱管教的,就是喜爱知识;恨恶责备的,却是畜类。
[5] The
thoughts of the righteous are just;
the
counsels of the wicked are treacherous.
义人的思念是公平;恶人的计谋是诡诈。
[6] The words of the
wicked lie in wait for blood,
but the mouth of
the upright delivers men.
恶人的言论是埋伏流人的血;正直人的口必拯救人。
[15] The way of a
fool is right in his own eyes,
but a wise man
listens to advice.
愚妄人所行的,在自己眼中看为正直;惟智慧人肯听人的劝教。
[17] He who
speaks the truth gives honest evidence,
but a
false witness utters deceit.
说出真话的,显明公义;作假见证的,显出诡诈。
[18] There is one
whose rash words are like sword thrusts,
but
the tongue of the wise brings healing.
说话浮躁的,如刀刺人;智慧人的舌头,却为医人的良药。
[28] In the
path of righteousness is life,
but the way of
error leads to death.
在公义的道上有生命;其路之中并无死亡。
Prov.13
箴言第十三章
[3] He who guards his mouth preserves his
life;
he who opens wide his lips comes to
ruin.
谨守口的,得保生命;大张嘴的,必致败亡。
[7] One man
pretends to be rich, yet has nothing;
another
pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth.
假作富足的,却一无所有;装作穷乏的,却广有财物。
[9] The light of
the righteous rejoices,
but the lamp of the
wicked will be put out.
义人的光明亮(注:原文作“欢喜”);恶人的灯要熄灭。
[10] By
insolence the heedless make strife,
but with
those who take advice is wisdom.
骄傲只启争竞;听劝言的,却有智慧。
[11] Wealth hastily
gotten will dwindle,
but he who gathers little
by little will increase it.
but trouble
befalls the income of the wicked.
义人家中,多有财宝;恶人得利,反受扰害
[7] The lips of the
wise spread knowledge; not so the minds of fools.
智慧人的嘴,播扬知识;愚昧人的心,并不如此
[17] Better is a
dinner of herbs where love is
than a fatted ox
and hatred with it.
吃素菜,彼此相爱,强如吃肥牛,彼此相恨
[18] A hot-tempered man stirs up strife,
but he who is slow to anger quiets contention.
暴怒的人,挑启争端;忍怒的人,止息纷争
[21] Folly is a joy to
him who has no sense,
but a man of
understanding walks aright.
无知的人以愚妄为乐;聪明的人按正直而行
[27] He who is greedy
for unjust gain makes trouble for his household,
but he who hates bribes will live.
不劳而得之财,必然消耗;勤劳积蓄的,必见加增。
[13] He who
despises the word brings destruction on himself,
but he who respects the commandment will be
rewarded.
藐视训言的,自取灭亡;敬畏诫命的,必得善报。
[16] In
everything a prudent man acts with knowledge,
but a fool flaunts his folly.
凡通达人都凭知识行事;愚昧人张扬自己的愚昧。
[20] He who walks
with wise men becomes wise,
but the companion
of fools will suffer harm.
与智慧人同行的,必得智慧;和愚昧人作伴的,必受亏损。
祸患追赶罪人;义人必得善报。
Prov.14
箴言第十四章
[1] Wisdom
builds her house, but folly with her own hands
tears it down.
智慧妇人,建立家室,愚妄妇人,亲手拆毁。
[2] He
who walks in uprightness fears the LORD,
but
he who is devious in his ways despises him.
行动正直的,敬畏耶和华;行事乖僻的,却藐视他。
[17] A man of
quick temper acts foolishly,
but a man of
discretion is patient.
轻易发怒的,行事愚妄;设立诡计的,被人恨恶。
[18] The simple acquire folly,
but the
prudent are crowned with knowledge.
愚蒙人得愚昧为产业;通达人得知识为冠冕。
[23] In all toil
there is profit, but mere talk tends only to want.
诸般勤劳都有益处;嘴上多言乃致穷乏。
[29] He who is slow to
anger has great understanding,
but he who has
a hasty temper exalts folly.
不轻易发怒的,大有聪明;性情暴躁的,大显愚妄。
[34] Righteousness
exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any
people.
公义使邦国高举;罪恶是人民的羞辱。

箴言第十五章
[1] A soft answer turns away
wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
回答柔和,使怒消退;言语暴戾,触动怒气。
[2] The tongue of the
wise dispenses knowledge,
but the mouths of
fools pour out folly.
智慧人的舌,善发知识;愚昧人的口,吐出愚昧。
[6] In the house of the righteous there is
much treasure,
贪恋财利的,扰害己家;恨恶贿赂的,必得存活

箴言第十六章
[32] He who is
slow to anger is better than the mighty,
and
he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
不轻易发怒的,胜过勇士;治服己心的,强如取城

箴言第十七章
[1] Better is a dry morsel
with quiet than a house full of feasting with
strife.
设筵满屋,大家相争,不如有块乾饼,大家相安
[13] If a man
returns evil for good, evil will not depart from
his house.
以恶报善的,祸患必不离他的家
[14] The
beginning of strife is like letting out water;
so quit before the quarrel breaks out.
纷争的起头如水放开,所以在争闹之先,必当止息争竞
[17] A friend
loves at all times, and a brother is born for
adversity.
朋友乃时常亲爱;弟兄为患难而生
[18] A man
without sense gives a pledge,
and becomes
surety in the presence of his neighbor.
在邻舍面前击掌作保,乃是无知的人
[19] He who loves
transgression loves strife;
he who makes his
door high seeks destruction.
喜爱争竞的,是喜爱过犯;高立家门的,乃自取败坏
[20] A man of
crooked mind does not prosper,
and one with a
perverse tongue falls into calamity.
心存邪僻的,寻不著好处;舌弄是非的,陷在祸患中
[27] He who
restrains his words has knowledge,
and he who
has a cool spirit is a man of understanding.
寡少言语的有知识;性情温良的有聪明
[28] Even a fool who
keeps silent is considered wise;
when he
closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.
愚昧人若静默不言,也可算为智慧,闭口不说,也可算为聪明

箴言第十九章
[1] Better is a poor man who
walks in his integrity
than a man who is
perverse in speech, and is a fool.
行为纯正的贫穷人,胜过乖谬愚妄的富足人
[4] Wealth
brings many new friends, but a poor man is
deserted by his friend.
财物使朋友增多,但穷人朋友远离
[5] A false witness will not go unpunished,and
he who utters lies will not escape.
作假见证的,必不免受罚;吐出谎言的,终不能逃脱
[8] He who gets
wisdom loves himself;
he who keeps
understanding will prosper.
得著智慧的,爱惜生命;保守聪明的,必得好处
[11] Good sense
makes a man slow to anger,
and it is his glory
to overlook an offense.
人有见识,就不轻易发怒,宽恕人的过失,便是自己的荣耀

箴言第二十章
[15] With patience a
ruler may be persuaded,
and a soft tongue will
break a bone.
恒常忍耐,可以劝动君王。柔和的舌头,能折断骨头

A man without self-control
is like a city
broken into and left without walls.
人不制服自己的心,好像毁坏的城邑,没有墙垣

箴言第二十六章
[16] The sluggard is wiser
in his own eyes
than seven men who can answer
discreetly.
懒惰人看自己,比七个善于应对的人更有智慧
[27] He
who digs a pit will fall into it,
[5] The
purpose in a man's mind is like deep water,
but a man of understanding will draw it out.
人心怀藏谋略,好像深水,惟明哲人才能汲引出来
[17] Bread gained
by deceit is sweet to a man,
but afterward his
mouth will be full of gravel.
以虚谎而得的食物,人觉甘甜,但后来他的口必充满尘沙
[29] The glory
of young men is their strength,
but the beauty
of old men is their gray hair.
强壮乃少年人的荣耀;白发为老年人的尊荣

箴言第二十一章
[5] The plans of the
diligent lead surely to abundance,
but every
one who is hasty comes only to want.
殷勤筹划的,足致丰裕;行事急躁的,都必缺乏
[29] A wicked man
puts on a bold face,
but an upright man
considers his ways.
恶人脸无羞耻;正直人行事坚定
Prov.22
箴言第二十二章
[1] A good name
is to be chosen rather than great riches,
and
favor is better than silver or gold.
美名胜过大财;恩宠强如金银
[7] The rich rules over the
poor,
and the borrower is the slave of the
lender.
富户管辖穷人,欠债的是债主的仆人
Prov.24
箴言第二十四章
[16] for a righteous man
falls seven times, and rises again;
but the
wicked are overthrown by calamity.
因为义人虽七次跌倒,仍必兴起;恶人却被祸患倾倒
[17] Do not
rejoice when your enemy falls,
and let not
your heart be glad when he stumbles;
你仇敌跌倒,你不要欢喜;他倾倒,你心不要快乐
Prov.25
箴言第二十五章
and a stone will come back upon
him who starts it rolling.
挖陷坑的,自己必掉在其中;滚石头的,石头必反滚在他身上
[28] A lying
tongue hates its victims, and a flattering mouth
works ruin.
虚谎的舌,恨他所压伤的人;谄媚的口,败坏人的事
Prov.27
箴言第二十七章
[1] Do not boast about
tomorrow,
for you do not know what a day may
bring forth.
不要为明日自夸,因为一日要生何事,你尚且不能知道
[3]
A stone is heavy, and sand is weighty,
but a
fool's provocation is heavier than both.
石头重,沙土沉,愚妄人的恼怒,比这两样更重
[4] Wrath is cruel,
anger is overwhelming;
but who can stand
before jealousy?
忿怒为残忍,怒气为狂澜,惟有嫉妒,谁能敌得住呢
[5] Better is open rebuke than hidden love.
当面的责备,强如背地的爱情
[6] Faithful are the wounds
of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy.
朋友加的伤痕,出于忠诚;仇敌连连亲嘴,却是多余
[17] Iron sharpens
iron, and one man sharpens another.
铁磨铁,磨出刃来;朋友相感(注:原文作“磨朋友的脸”),也是如此
[19] As
in water face answers to face, so the mind of man
reflects the man.
水中照脸,彼此相符;人与人,心也相对
[21]
The crucible is for silver, and the furnace is for
gold,
and a man is judged by his praise.
鼎为炼银,炉为炼金,人的称赞也试炼人
Prov.28
箴言第二十八章
[3] A poor man who oppresses
the poor
is a beating rain that leaves no
food.
穷人欺压贫民,好像暴雨冲没粮食
[13] He who conceals
his transgressions will not prosper,
but he
who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.
遮掩自己罪过的,必不亨通;承认离弃罪过的,必蒙怜恤
[19] He who
tills his land will have plenty of bread,
but
he who follows worthless pursuits will have plenty
of poverty.
耕种自己田地的,必得饱食;追随虚浮的,足受穷乏
[27]
He who gives to the poor will not want,
but he
who hides his eyes will get many a curse.
周济贫穷的,不致缺乏,佯为不见的,必多受咒诅
Prov.29
箴言第二十九章
[5] A man who
flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet.
谄媚邻舍的,就是设网罗绊他的脚
[11] A fool gives full
vent to his anger, but a wise man quietly holds it
back.
愚妄人怒气全发;智慧人忍气含怒
[15] The rod and
reproof give wisdom,
but a child left to
himself brings shame to his mother.
杖打和责备能加增智慧;放纵的儿子使母亲羞愧
[23] A man's pride
will bring him low, but he who is lowly in spirit
will obtain honor
人的高傲,必使他卑下;心里谦逊的,必得尊荣
