定语从句中的注意事项
1.关系代词在定语从句中作主语时,不可省略。
2.当引导定语从句的关系代词在从句中作主语
时，那么定语从句中的谓语动
词在人称、数的方面，应该与先行词保持一致。
I，who
am your teacher,will try my best to help you.
我——你的老师，将尽全力帮助你。
The recorder that has been
given to me is made in China.
给我的那一台录音机是中国产的。
I didn’t meet the guests who
were here last week.
我没有遇见上星期在这里的客人。

①有时先行词与关系代词隔开，这时先确定先行词。
Henry
is doing experiments in the laboratory which are
important to
his studies of certain chemicals.
亨利正在实验室里做实验，这些实验对于他研
究某些化学制品是很重要的。（which的先行词只能是
experiments，而不是
laboratory，因此which后的谓语动词是复数。）
②当关系代词as或which引导非限制性定语从句，修饰主句内容时，若as
或whi
ch作主语，则从句的谓语动词用单数形式。
Great changes have
taken place in China, as is known to all.
众所周知，中国发生了巨大的变化。
He has passed the
College Entrance Examination, which makes his
parents quite happy.
他通过了高考，这让他的父母很高兴。
③当先行词是“one of the
+复数名词（短语）”，并且关系代词在从句中
作主语时，从句的谓语动词通常 用复数。当“one
of the+复数名词（短语）”
这个短语前有the only,the
very等时，关系代词所代表的是一个单数的概念，
所以从句中的谓语动词要用单数。
The Great Wall is one of the world-famous
buildings that draw lots
of visitors.
长城是吸引大批游客的世界著名的建筑之一。
The Great Wall is the
only one of the buildings on the earth that is
seen from the moon.
长城是地球上唯一能从月球上看到的建筑物。

后面的定语从句。
如果先行词way后面的定语从句中缺少用that或which或省略引导词。如
果定语从句方式状语
，则用in which,that或省略引导词。
The way
thatwhich (不填) he explained to us was quit simple.
他向我们解释的那种方法很简单。
The way thatin
which(不填) he explained the sentence to us was
not difficult to understand.
他向我们解释句子的那种方法不难理解
4.当先行词是time时，若time表示“次数”时，
应用关系代词that引导
定语从句，that可省珞；若time作“一段时间”讲，应用关系副词w
hen或介
词atduring+which引导定语从句。
This is the
second time(that) the President has visitend the
country.
这已是这个总统第二次访问这个国家了
There was a
time whenduring which there were no radios, no
telephones or no TV sets.
曾有一个没有收音机，没有电话，也没有电视的时期。
5.定语从句中加插入语。
This is the man who I believe is very honest
这就是那个我认为很诚实的人。
关系代词与动词之间有时有一个插人语，有时用逗号断开，有时没
有逗号断
开。常用于插入语的动词有believe, think, suppose，guess
等。解题时应注
意将插入成分提出，从而使难题简化。.
例 Ellen was a
painter of birds and of nature ,____ , for some
