《热血教师》 The Ron Clark Story
R: I shook a desk with a 12-year-old kid in it. I wanted to throw it.. And her, right out
the window.
G: Well, they’ve seen that kind of anger before.
R: Well, not from me. I totally lost it.
G: What, you felt helpless?They feel that way every day.
R: These kids can do anything I’m asking them to do, more. They just...won’t..so..Today
I gave up.
G: Don’t give up, Ron.
R: Oh, yeah? How long has it been since you’ve auditioned?
G: I don’t know. 2 years and 7 months. What? Broadway’s gonna miss me if I’m
kids, they will miss you. Maybe you can be that one guy that turns it
around for them.

R: 我疯狂地摇一张桌子 里面还坐着一个12岁的孩子。我想把它，跟她一起从窗户扔出去。
G: 他们以前见过人这么生气的。
R: 但不是我 我...我完全失控了
G: 怎么? 你觉得无助?这种感觉他们每天都能感受
R:这些孩子能做到我的任何要求 甚至更多. 他们只是...不想做.所以.... 今天我放弃了
G: 不要放弃 伦
R: 噢 是吗? 你从开始试镜到现在有多久了?
G: 我不知道,.两年零7个月. 怎么了? 如果我走了.百老汇会想念我的..这些孩子也会想你
的，或许你可以做那么为他们回头的人。


P: These kids are at the bottom of the barrel.
R: Don’t talk about them like that.
P: Now all I’m asking is for your students to pass
R: Oh, every one of my students will pass.
P: Good. They’ve become somebody else’s question.
R: The problem isn’t the kids. It’s not even what they can achieve. The problem is
what you expect them to achieve.
You are setting the bar here. Why? Set it up here. They can make it.
P: This community judges us by scores. Government funding judges us by scores.
People who give me scores, they get my respect.
R: Ok, good. In may, they’ll all pass. At grade level.

P:很好, 他们成了某人的问题了.

R:问题不是在孩子身上, 问题也不是他们是否能达标.问题是你期望他们能达到什么标准.
你现在把栏杆设在这里.. 为什么?把栏杆设高在这里.他们可以做到的
P:这个社会是通过分数来评判大家的.政府的资金也是通过分数来评判的...谁能给我高分 谁
就能获得我的尊敬
R: 好.那很好...5月份,他们都会达到评分级别..

R: Look, if we expel him, he’s only going to fall further behind.
S: Mr. Clark, our students can’t simply do what they want with no consequences.
R: What about the consequences for Tay Shawn? We are supposed to be keeping
these kids in school.

Every day I come into this office and listen to you kids shit all over yourselves! It's
so easy to be careless. It takes courage to take care. Not that you have any of those
qualities. Get out! Just get out! Get out!

每天我来到这间办公室 看着你们自己作践自己! 要无心太容易了,在乎才需要勇气.你们都
不配! 滚! 滚出去! 滚出去!

We have such a responsibility to guide our young so that they don't end up falling
apart. Falling by the way side. Becoming insignificant. I realized something today. I'm
a non-person, Sarah. You shouldn't be here. I am not here. You may see me, but I'm
hollow. Failing. We're failing. Failed in a sense that we have let everyone down.
Including ourselves.

When you're walking down the hallway, or in your classroom, how many of you have
ever felt the weight pressing down on you? I have. Everyone? Wow!

haircuts. Full of hormones. Just like you. Invincible just like you fell. The world is
their oyster. They belive they're destined for great things, just like many of you,
their eyes are full of hope, just like you. Did they wait until it was too late to make
from their lives evenone iota of what they were capable? Because, you see gentelman,

these boys are now fertilising daffodils. But if you listen real close, you can hear
them whisper their legacy to you. Go on, lean in. Listen, you hear it ? Carpe...hear
it?...Carpe, carpe diem, seize the day, boys, make your lives extrordinary.

3. Learn to think for yourselves again. No matter what anybody tells you, words and
ideas can change the world.
学会自己思考，学会欣赏文学和语言。不管别人怎么说，文学和语言的确能改变世界。
don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry
because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion.
And medicine, law, business, engineering -- these are noble pursuits and necessary to
sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love -- these are what we stay alive for.
我们读诗、写诗并不是因为它们好玩，而是因为我们是人类的一分子，而人类是 充满激
情的。没错，医学、法律、商业、工程，这些都是崇高的追求，足以支撑人的一生。但诗歌、美丽、浪漫、爱情，这些才是我们活着的意义。

when you think you know something, you have to look at it in another way.
Even though it may seem silly or wrong, you must try! Now, when you read, don't just
consider what the author thinks. Consider what you think.
一旦觉得自己懂得，就必须换一种角度来看。这可能显得有些荒 唐，或者愚蠢，但必
须试一下。同样读书的时候，不要只想作者怎么看，想想你自己怎么看。

13. Boys, you must strive to find your own voice. Because the longer you wait to
begin, the less likely you are to find it at all.
