Go travelling, that’s one of the best ways for you to learn.
Once you have decided your destination(目的地), the next step in planning a trip is to book
your flights. Learning how to find cheap flights will help you a lot and you can save a lot from the
biggest travel cost.
As a travelling family, if you travel abroad and it’s a long hard flight, I suggest that you plan
your trip in advance so that you can get to your destination as quickly as possible, to make the trip
more comfortable that your budget(预算) allows! If it’s your one-and-only dream vacation for the
year, I recommend you pay a little bit extra money for a high-quality airline and fly directly too!
When searching for cheap flights online, we always start with Skyscanner, which is one of our
favourite booking sites. Skyscanner is a comparison(比较) site that searches millions of flights from
over a thousand airlines, and once you’ve found your flight on it, you are taken to the airline to make
your booking with no extra money added. Download the new Skyscanner App, which makes it easier
for you to find the best travel deals. It’s an all in one search engine app with flights, hotels and car
hire involved.
Other credible flight search engines include Kayak, Hipmunk, Google Flights and Momondo.
After you found your best flight on the search engines, do directly to that airline’s own website
and see if you can get it for cheaper tickets. Many airlines have lower fares only available on their
own site.

It is said that the eyes are “the windows of our soul”. Beautiful and bright eyes not only show a
good health but also make you look very attractive. However, to have healthy eyes, you have to look
after them properly. Your eyes need taking good care of.
Be careful with your diet. First, eat food that is good for your eyes. They are fresh
fruits, vegetables, fish, eggs, and milk. Besides, a regular amount of vitamins A and B2 should also
be taken.
A regular and sound sleep is a must. It relaxes your eyes and gives them enough rest. Sleep not
only helps repair the tired body. Usually, you must sleep for at least seven to eight hours every day.
Loss of sleep can give you dark circles under the eye.

You must exercise your eyes every day. Blink (

the eyeballs full of water and gives them a good wash.

sunlight. Always use sunglasses as sunlight can cause eye tiredness. Light should not shine directly
in your eyes. Too much reading, watching TV or working on the computer can also cause eye

The concept(概念) of homeschooling is not a new one. Homeschooling means educating children

at home instead of sending them to public or private schools. Nowadays, homeschooling has become
popular in the USA for a lot of reasons. One of them is poor quality of education in public schools and
it’s also because of the high cost in private schools. Some parents believe that because they know their
child’s strengths and weaknesses, they can teach him or her better. Some parents prefer homeschooling
in order to prevent their children from getting into bad company. There is another group of people who
choose to educate their children at home because they want them to learn their religious beliefs(宗教信
仰). They also think that homeschooling would help in development of strong family bonds(家庭纽
带).
However, there are some negative(负面的,消极的) influences of homeschooling on students as
well as parents.
Homeschooling is a full-time job and not fit for parents who have their own careers. It takes a
lot of time for parents’ side to make homeschooling a success. Other family members may also be
influenced. They may give their full attention to the needs of their children. Besides, a parent may
have high educational qualifications(学历), but that does not make him or her a good teacher.
Teaching is an art, which requires the ability to understand the needs of the children. It may be
difficult for the parents to explain the concepts to their children.
In today’s world, competition is seen in every field, and school prepares children to face these
competitions. However, homeschooling does not give the children a chance to compare with other
kids. They will also not be aware of where they stand in educational position among their classmates.
This may influence their lives. Education is not the only thing that the children need to become
successful human beings. It is necessary that they learn to communicate in the society, and public
school provides them with such an environment, where they meet many people. Schools also
provide children with a chance to take part in different activities to improve their overall(全面的)
development.
It is true that it has many advantages, but one must get to know that school teaches children
skills to survive.

Literature(
文学
) is a word used to describe written as well as spoken material. Generally
speaking, it is often used to describe anything from creative imaginations, including works of poetry,
drama and fiction.
Then why read literature, since it is often imaginary and seems unconnected with real life?
A lot of us read literature for enjoyment and relaxation. It’s always pleasant to read some
interesting books in our spare time. In a modern life full of stress, it is our common wish to read
some imaginary works and look for relaxation from the stress in life.
Reading literature is more than fun; it also allows us to get knowledge. As a general rule,
literature represents a language of a country, and it often gives us an insight(
洞察力
) into the
traditions, attitudes(
态度
) and values of the age(
年代
) in which it was written.
Sometimes literature can even offer us new, creative ways to have a better understanding of the
world. It introduces us to new worlds of experiences. We enjoy the comedy and the tragedy of poems,
stories and plays; and we may even grow through our literary journey with books. At last we may
discover meaning in literature by looking at what the writer says and how he or she says it. In some

ways, we explore the human condition and analyze(
分析
) the way they think and feel the way they
feel. Literature helps us think clearly and encourages us to open minds.
So we can certainly say literature is of great importance to us. Why not get going with one
poem, drama or fiction at once?

David Adler is a dreamer. He always has been. As a boy, he often made up stories to make his

brothers and sisters happy. His parents owned a house with three floors. They used it to keep
unwanted things on the third floor. David loved to crawl (爬) around up there, looking through all
the things. It gave him ideas for even more stories to tell!
David, the dreamer, grew up and became a teacher. He didn’t stop
dreaming, though. One day his three-year-old nephew visited him. He
asked David a question. That question was followed by another question.
And one after another. The boy’s questions just kept coming! After he left,
David’s head was filled with all the questions his nephew had asked.
David Adler wrote a story using all those thoughts. He sent it off to a
publisher to see if they liked it. They did! His first story was going to become a book! It was called A
Little At A Time.

Not a lot changed after David Adler wrote his first book. The only thing that changed was he
started doing more writing. David decided to take a break from teaching when his first son was born.
His wife had a good job and wanted to go back to work. David had to stay at home to care for his
son. Later, David took notes of all the things that he needed each time he took the baby outside.

That thought inspired (激发) him to write a mystery book. It would be the first of many books
centred on a character named Cam Jansen, a girl with an amazing memory. The books were a big
success. Then he gave up teaching and became a full-time writer.

David Adler has dreamed up a lot of different stories. He still spends a lot of time dreaming. It
is how he comes up with ideas for his books. He says, “Don’t Think. Just Write!” He does his best
work when he just writes the things that come into his head.

Sure, it's good to get along well with your teacher because it makes the time you spend in the
classroom more pleasant.
And yes, it's good to get along well with your teacher because, in general, it's smart to learn
how to get along well with the different types of people you'll meet throughout your life.
In fact, kids who get along well with their teachers not only learn more, but they're more
comfortable about asking questions and getting extra help. This makes it easier for them to
understand new materials and do their best on tests.
Here is a question: what if you don't get alone well with your teachers? In fact, teachers want to
get along well with you and enjoy seeing you learn. But teachers and students sometimes have
personality clashes (冲突), which can happen between any two people. If you show your teacher that
you want to make the situation better, he or she will probably do everything possible to make that
happen. By dealing with a problem like this, you learn something about how to get along with
People who are different from you.
However, if a certain teacher isn't your favourite, you can still have a successful relationship
