1、 原文：这是一个必须将千言万语压在心头、一开口说话便要招灾致祸的仪式。
译文：This was a rite for which people knew they

分析：千言万语形容说的话很多，在这里作者要表达的是心里的
想法很多，但是不能够
表达出来，所以这属于意译，作者没有将表达量多的字眼“千”和“万”表达出来
，这也是
属于翻译当中归化的理论。

原文：至于说话究竟会带来什么样的后果，没有人问，也没有人说，仿佛大家都知道，
大家都心照不宣。
译文：Exactly what might befall you if you broke

分析：心照不宣表示彼此心里明白，而不公开说出来。也指互相之间明
白或共同认可一
件事物，做出相同的判断。同时，对方心中所想所希望的予以回应，而无需对方提醒。在
这
里作者翻译的时候将其意译出来了，就好像大家都知道了一样，属于归化。
3、
原文：高密东北乡劫后余生的人们——多半是妇女和儿童，都换上了过年的衣裳，踩着
雪向高地前进。
译文：Northeast Gaomi Township’s survivors of the
carnage — mostly women and children—
all
dressed up in their New Year’s finest and headed
through the snow toward the highlands, their

their feet.
分析：劫后余生的意思是经历灾难后幸存下来的人，译文则是直接翻译了成语
的意思，
“劫难后的人们”，属于翻译技巧中的意译，同时也是归化的一种。
4、
原文：一团团的雪，纷纷扬扬，遮天蔽日。
译文：Huge drifts of falling
snow, one on top of the other, blotted out the
sun.
分析：这个成语的意思就是遮住了天和太阳，但是翻译时直接是“sun”，而没有将遮住“天”和蔽“日”全部重复地翻译出来，这是意译，同时也是归化。

原文：我洋洋得意，母亲和大姐也欢喜。沙枣花崇拜地仰望着我。
译文：I could not

分析：洋洋得意形容得意时神气十足的姿态。而在这里译者没有直译，而
是选择用反语，
“我没有像现在这样骄傲过”，使用否定来表达洋洋得意的那种骄傲劲儿。这里是意译，
同
时也是归化。
6、 原文：他们期期艾艾，说不出一句完整话。
译文：They
stammered incoherently,…
分析：stammer的意思是口吃，inco
herently意思是无条理的，松散的，期期艾艾的意思
是形容口吃的人吐辞重复，说话不流利。翻
译的时候将这个词意译出来，没有像原文中
那样使用两个重叠表达的单词，这也是归化的表现。
7、 原文：一路上受尽了千辛万苦，抬到杜宝船家。
译文：… and the two
brothers carried his body home, a full fifteen
hundred li, experiencing
untold hardships
along the way.
分析：千辛万苦是指经历了非常多的辛苦，译文中也是表达的经历了无
法言表的辛苦和
磨难，而没有将“千”和“万”具体的表达出来，译者选择了意译和归化。
8、 原文：他们久经磨练的肩膀像铁一样坚硬，他们的腿脚训练有素。
译文：Their
tempered shoulders were hard as steel, their legs
well trained for their profession.
分析：译
者在这里采用意译的方式将这个四字词语表达出来，训练有素就是指被训练了
很有专业范儿，并且不是一
般人能做到的，所以这译文中是表达出了这个它的深层含义，并
且属于归化。

原文：陈老道受太上老君的嘱托创始“雪集”，功德圆满，已羽化成仙。
译文：who had
received his instructions from Laozi, the founder
of Taoism himself, and that
once he’d carried
out his instructions, he’d risen up to Heaven to

分析：这是很典型的意译的结果，这两个词语都是带有浓
厚佛教色彩的成语，在目的语
读者看来是直译是无法理解的，就像我们很难理解圣经里面的一些典故一样
，如果只让我们
看字面去理解意思那是很难的，所以作者选择意译是必须的，这也是归化的体现。
10、原文：……住在一座高耸入云的大山上……
