Recently, the topic whether the ban on abusive language on the Internet is
helpful or not has aroused great attention and debate. Some people believe it helpful
while others doubt its effectiveness.
Those in favor of this move state that imposing the ban on online abuse is a
counterattack against the deterioration of the communication method on the
Internet. More significantly, it’s no doubt that the ban gives positive guidance to
either netizens or the public and helps encourage higher morality. However, other
people oppose that the ban, as a matter of fact, is unnecessary and difficult to
practice, for the users can well disguise their true identity. Furthermore, morality
should be something rooted in an individual’s heart so to underline the ban will do
nothing to encourage people to be more polite.
Personally speaking, I agree with the former opinion. Abusive language online,
in most cases illogical, is a desperate insult to suppress others’ ideas. Thus, ban
concerning this issue can offer helpful instructions to the netizens. In addition, it also
contributes to promoting the moral standards of the whole society.

Is Offering Seats Compulsory for Young Bus Riders?
In recent years, there have been many disputes about young’s giving seats to
the elderly on buses. Some people maintain that the elderly are physically weak and
are more prone to falling and getting hurt when standing on a moving bus. Therefore,
young people, especially those taking the priority seats, have obligation to offer the
seats to senior citizens to prevent potential hurt.
Some people, however, think the other way. Young passengers, they say, pay for
the bus trip, so they enjoy the same right as the senior citizens to use the seats on
the bus. Besides, many young riders, though physically strong, can’t escape being
exhausted by a day’s work and are in great need the seats on the buses too. Forcing
them to give up the seats seems inhuman and unfair.
In my view, whether it is compulsory for the young to give up their seats to
needy riders depends on the kind of seats they take. In general, it is a moral
requirement for young passengers on regular seats to do so. However, for those
sitting on priority seats, it is a legal obligation.

My View on Charity
Charity is of the utmost importance to our society. While following a series of
scandals, some individuals and institutions involved in this field have encountered
criticism in recent months.
There are several reasons for this phenomenon. Above all, compared with
those of developed countries, the charity awareness in our country is still backward.
Some people equal charity with donation, and therefore they believe that charity is
the rich’s responsibility and has nothing to do with the middle-class and the working
people. The second thing that must be taken into consideration is that a number of
individuals and charitable organizations lack a sense of social responsibility, which
results in the declining social credibility.
For my part, I believe that the following steps can address this situation.
Firstly, people’s awareness of how profound influence charity can bring to our society
should be heightened. Secondly, rigorous supervision must be carried out by the
administration involved, so that the charity activities will become more transparent.

How to Face Frustration
Frustration is unavoidable in life. Faced with frustration, some people are
defeated while others conquer it and succeed. In the long history of human beings,
many famous people have set good examples for us.
Strong-minded person can not be defeated by frustration. It is frustration that
will breed success. Zhang Haidi is a case in point. Disable as she is, she obtained the
master degree in Philosophy and acquire four foreign languages. As far as we know,
Edison had made experiments for eight thousand times before electric light was
invented. As the old saying goes, our greatest glory consists not only in falling, but in
rising every time we fall.
All in all, when the unexpected frustration comes, we must get up the
courage to conquer it. Furthermore, we should learn from our failures so that we can
steer ourselves through failures next time and embark on the road to success.

5、The university’s Branch Campuses in Suburban Areas

In recent years more and more universities have built up their branch
campuses in suburban areas. Now it is very difficult to find a university without a
branch campus. Maybe no one can tell clearly when the first branch campus came
out.
But the reasons behind this phenomenon are obvious. Among these
reasons, the enrollment expansion of universities plays a very vital role. As more and
more freshmen are remitted to universities, the original facilities, including
classrooms, apartments, dining houses, laboratories and the like, are not enough any
more. What’s more, the land in the suburb is relatively low in price, which is
affordable for most universities. Besides, the quiet environment in suburban areas is
more suitable for students to study.
As a college student, I think, it is necessary and beneficial for many
universities to build up a branch campus. However the building of branch campuses
brings some problems. For one thing, the students in some branch campuses cannot
enjoy good enough facilities and the teachers due to limited resources. For another it
leads to less direct communications among teachers and students. Therefore the
university should take a full account before it decides to build up a branch campus.

Nowadays, many universities encourage and organize students to take part
in social practice activities. During the holidays, more and more students choose to
be the volunteers, take part-time jobs or take part in other practical activities alike.
It is obvious that social practice is playing a more and more important role
in Chinese college education. Undoubtedly, college students have benefited a lot
from social practice. Above all, there are provided with more opportunities to
contact the real world outside the campus. Moreover, in social practice activities,
students can apply their knowledge to solution to practical problems. So the social
practice skills are improved greatly. Besides, social practice help strengthen students
since social responsibility. Considering the above mentions, I think it is necessary for
college students to participant in social practice. However, social practice may bring
some problems. For example, some students spend too much time in taking
part- time jobs so as to ignore their study. Therefore, we should try to balance

In recent years, to get a certificate has become a new craze among college
students. Just randomly, ask a student on campus what he or she is busy doing, quite
possibly, you may get the answer that he or she is preparing for a certificate of some
kind.
Why does this craze appear? There are two mainly reasons behind this
phenomenon. First, it is the employments pressure that forces college students to
get more certificates. With the admission expansion of colleges, a large more
graduates have to face the fierce competition in the job markets. How can one make
himself more competitive, more certificates at hands maybe. Second, the diplomas
and certificates are still important standard by which many employers measure a
person’s ability in order to increase qualification for a job, the students compel
themselves to run from one exam to another.
Form my point of view, we should be more rational when it comes to
certificates, since certificates do not necessarily prove one’s ability, being crazy in
getting certificates blindly. It is nothing but wasting time. To conclude, we should
focus on improving our ability but not getting a certificate of no practical value.

Reserving a Seat
We often see there is a book, a bottle of water or something else on the
desk in the classroom or library, indicating the seat is taken. This kind of
phenomenon is very usual in almost all colleges and universities. Strangely enough,
most of students seem to take this for granted, and few will protest it.
Though most of students’ taking seats in advance is for better study, this
kind of phenomenon has great negative effects. On the one hand, it is a selfish
behavior, which damages other students’ interests. Sometimes even if many
students come to the classroom very early, they can not find a seat. On the other
hand, reserving a seat violates the rule of fairness. No matter how late you come to
class, the seat is still reserved for you even though many others are eager for that
seat.
Considering the above-mentioned, I think, it is high time that we college
students took a good look of our behavior. Indeed, only if all of us can improve our
consciousness, it is not a difficult task for us to get rid of this kind of phenomenon
“reserving a seat”.

Helping strangers has always been considered as a treasured virtue of human
kind .We need help from others throughout our life, whenever we travel to other

feel great joy when we are trusted, needed and able to give a hand.

However ,some people are cautious when it comes to helping strangers .They
say that helping others involves risks of getting hurt or cheated .Lending a hand to a
stranger often puts us in a vulnerable position for it means trusting a hand to a

people are more likely to make spelling mistakes when they have to handwrite
something. Another is that people are so dependent on computers that they have
lost the ability to think for themselves. If “the computer says XYZ”, then XYZ must be
true. If you want to make someone believe you like an idiot, just tell him “that’s
what the computer said”.

In my opinion, computers make our lives easier but we should never rely on
them completely. These machines should be used as a tool to aid work rather than
the only tool. Otherwise, chaos can occur when suddenly our computers crash or
what is worse, refuse to take our orders.

Many people are inclined to do one job in their lives. In their opinions,
people who change their jobs frequently are superficial and tactless. They believe

But there are still many people who don’t agree. They argue that change
means progress. If you are not satisfied with your present job, of course you have the
right to replace it with a more challenging and better paid one. Every change is a step
to further success. This idea may be. the reason why they change their jobs so often.

For my part, I think it reasonable to change your job if you have a better
opportuniry. But once you have found a position where you can fully display your
ability, it is advisable to settle down to it and put all your efforts into it. Only in this
way, can you get the true joy of achieving your goal

Several decades ago, it should be a marvelous wonder to purchase our
favorite gifts only by clicking the mouse and then just waiting for the door knock by a

it is no long a rare case. Combined with the fast food, the digital communication ,
online shopping has been a common part of our life.

Admittedly, on line shopping offers magical convenience. For example, it
saves time and offers numerous choices since floods of information can be supplied
on Internet. While, every coin has tow sides and online shopping is no different. Have
you still remembered the annoying time when you found the commodities you buy
on Internet was not the slightest as what you had expected and long time had to be
taken for its replace and even compensation. Actually, just with the seemingly

How to improve psychological health?
As is known to all, psychological health is as important as, if not more important than,
physical health for a student during hisher growth. However, it’s quite worrying that nowadays
some students are not quite psychologically healthy. Undoubtedly, schools nd universities
should take great account in the responsibilities of studentspsychological health. Relevant courses
and activities should be introduced to students so that they would be more aware of the
significance of psychological health and find appropriate ways to maintain and improve it. For

Of course no psychological health can be obtained without the efforts from the students

Nowadays, the blind-date shows are becoming more and more popular.
Whenever we turn on TV, those incredible scenes of blind-date shows would pop up

shows that they never miss a single chance to watch them.

Three reasons would contribute to the popularity of these blind-date
shows. To begin with, there are over 180 million people who remain single long after
they have reached official age for marriage. Moreover, a great number of people
would like to amuse themselves by watching other people dating. Last but not least,
more and more television producers add a couple of attractive elements to cater for
the different tastes of the audiences.

In my view, the government should impose restrictions to these blind-date
shows. Many of these shows advocate money-worship and materialism; quite a few
of the guests' identities are artificial. If these problems are not solved, the misleading
effects can bedisastrous.
