as well as的用法

as
well as后接动词到底该用什么形式，这是一比较复杂的问题，归纳起来有以下几点值
得注意：
一、as well as构成同级比较结构，意为“和 ……
一样好”。第一个as是副词，第二
个as是连词，引导一个状语从句，表示同级比较。
在否定句中可用not so well as代
替not as well as。
He
speaks English
as well as
a native
speaker.他讲的英语是和英语是母语
的人一样好。
He can operate
the machine
as well as
I
do.他操作这台机器和我一样熟
练。
He speaks English
as well as
she. 他说英语说得跟她一样好。
She
plays every bit
as well as
the men.

二、as well as用作连词，连接
两个并列的同等成分，其意义为“不但……而且……”，
“既……又……”，这时相当于not
only ... but also
...。它所连接的部分既可以
是单词、短语，也可以是句子。在A as well as
B的结构里，语意的重点在A，不在B。
翻译时要特别注意。
The girl is

A as well as B这一结构强调的重点是A不是B，即A as
well as B=not only B but also

把握主谓一致
当as well
as连接两个成分作主语时，其后谓语的单复数形式通常要与前面一个主语保持
一致。

as well as
his parents

London. 汤姆和他的父母要去伦敦。
The captain,
as well
as
the other players,
was
tired.
队长和其他队员都累了。
三、as well as作介词，意为“除了……之外
，还有”，后面通常接名词或动名词，相当
于besides，apart from，in
addition to。
He sings
as well as
playing the piano．他不但会弹钢琴，而且会唱歌。
As well
as
breaking his leg, he hurt his
arm．他不但摔断了腿，而且还伤了胳膊。
Smoking is dangerous,
as well as
making you smell bad.
吸烟不仅使你身上有气味，

注：as well
as后接动词用动名词的情况主要见于主句谓语为简单时态(即一般现在时和一
般过去时)的场合。
当as well as用于句首时，其后习惯上要接动名词。如：

一顿有七道菜的饭之外，他们还喝了三瓶酒。

as后的动词通常要
与情态动词或助动词后的动词形式保持一致。如果as well as前面是带t
o的动词不定
式，其后的动词不定式省去to；当重复同一动词时，可用do代替。如果as well
as是连
接两个不定式，则其后用不带to的不定式。 如：

注：as well as有时也被视为准并列连词，后接的动词可以与主句谓语动词形
式一致(但这
种情形远不如用后接动名词普遍）。如果as well
as连接的是两个简单动词形式(do,

did)，它和第二个动词实际上起着插入语的作用，这时as well
as后的动词在人
称和数上应与主语保持一致。 如果谓语是一般现在时或一般过去时，as
well as之
后可与前面一致，也可用动名词形式。如：

四、需要注意的几个问题
1. 用于否定结构中not位于as well as后时，两者都否定；not用于as well
as前
时，否定前者，肯定后者。试比较：
I shall
not
see the film
as well as
he. 他将去看电影，而我不去。
I, as well as he, shall not see the film.
他不去看电影，我也不去。
2. as well
as连接的人称代词，既可以是主格，也可以是宾格，但句意不同。
They have
invited you as well as me.
他们邀请了我，也邀请了你。（you和
me都作宾语）
They have
invited you as well as I.
他们和我一样都邀请了你。（they和I
都作主语）
3. may
might as well do sth表示“不妨，还是……的好”。
4. as
well是副词，意为“又；另外也”，其后不跟成分。又如：
Give me
those
as well
. 把那此也给我吧。
He sent me
a letter and some money
as well
.
他寄给我一封信，外加一些
钱
I am going to London and my
sister is going as
well（＝going，too）.
我要到伦敦去，我妹妹也要去。
I not
only play the guitar, I sing as well（＝I also
