(1) taste, smell 在句子中作名词
【复习】taste, smell, look, sound, feel 作感官动词时后需加形容词
如:The soup tastes delicious.
(2) as well “也;并且”。
【区别】:as well, too, also, either
too, as well和 also用于肯定句和疑问句,too和as well多用于口语,一 般放在句末,too
可用逗号和前面的句子隔开,也可不用。而also多用于书面语,一般放在句中与 动词连
用, 常用于be动词,情态动词,助动词之后,行为动词之前。
either用于否定句,往往放在句末。
如:He went there too.
He didn’t go there either.
I like you as well.
I also went there.

【拓展】keep on doing是指中间有休息停顿的不停地做,比如keep on reading,并不是说一直

而keep doing是指持续不断的,一直保持这个状态keep reading,一直在看书,没有
停过,没有休息,没有做其它事。

Here are the kinds of things people say when they invite someone to their home:
“Would you like to come over for dinner on Saturday night?”
“Hey, we’re having a party on Friday. Can you come?”
To reply to an invitation, either say “thank you” and accept, or say you’re sorry and
give an excuse:
“Thanks, I’d love to. What time would you like me to come?” or “Oh, sorry. I have
ticket for a movie.”
Sometimes, however, people use expressions that sounds like invitations but which are
not real invitations. For example:
“Please come over for a drink sometime,”
“Why don’t you come over and see us sometime soon.”
They are just polite ways of ending a conversation. They are not really invitations
because they don’t mention a specific (明确的)time or date. They just show that the person
is trying to be friendly. To rely to expression like these, people just say “sure, that would be
great!” or “OK, thanks.”
