Unit 11 Small animals

【第一课时】

【教学目标】

通过呈现小动物图片,帮助学生学习词汇。
【教学重难点】

词汇:mouse, cat, dog, rabbit, tail
【教学过程】

Ⅰ.Pre-task preparations
1.先播放Unit 6的Sing a song栏目的儿歌,让学生边听边跟唱,以作为课前热身,同时
也能复习已学的有关身体部位的单词。
2.播放一首有关动物的儿歌给学生欣赏,为本单元学习内容的导入作铺垫。
Ⅱ.While-task procedures
1.教师用多媒体或卡片呈现Look and learn的单词图片,带领学生认读这些小动物的英语
名称。
T: (point to the picture of a mouse) Look at this small animal. It's a mouse. Mouse, mouse,
mouse.
Ss: Mouse, mouse, mouse.
T: M-O-U-S-E. Mouse, mouse, mouse.
Ss: M-O-U-S-E. Mouse, mouse, mouse.
用同样的方式带领学生就猫、狗和兔子的图片认读其英语名称。
2.教师用多媒体或挂图呈现Look and learn栏目的任意小动物并提问,学生判断正误并 拼
读出该单词,以检验学生在前一活动中的学习效果。
T: (show the picture of a mouse) Is this a mouse?
Ss: Yes. It’s a mouse. M-O-U-S-E. Mouse.
T: (show the picture of a rabbit) Is this a mouse?
Ss: No. It’s a rabbit. R-A-B-B-I-T. Rabbit.

3.用多媒体播放几种动物叫声(如猫和狗的叫声),让学生根据常识分辨出是哪种动物并

说出相应的英语名称。
T: (play the recording of the sound that a cat makes) A dog?
Ss: No. A cat.
T: Oh, you’re right, (play the recording of the sound that a dog makes) A rabbit?
Ss: No. A dog.
4.教师用多媒体或挂图呈现Look and learn 栏目的任意一只小动物图片,指着其面部各部
位说出相应的英语名称,然后让学生自告奋勇上台指出其他 小动物面部各部位的英语名称。最
后教师指着各个小动物的尾巴引出单词tail。
T: (point to different parts of the mouse’s face and say) Ears, eyes, nose and mouth Right?
Ss: Yes.
T: Good! Who will try now?
S1: (point to different parts of the cat's face and say) Ears, eyes, nose and mouth.
T: Right?
Ss: Yes.
T: Very good! Who will try next?
T: (point to the mouse’s tail) Look! This is a tail, (point to the tails of the four animals in Look
and learn”) These are all tails. Tail, tail, tail.
Ss: Tail, tail, tail.
T: (point to the mouse’s tail again) Tail, tail.
My tail is long.
Ss: Tail, tail. My tail is long.
T: (point to the rabbit’s tail) Tail, tail. My tail is short.
Ss: Tail, tail. My tail is short.
T: (point to the mouse’s tail and then the rabbit’s tail) Tail, tail, tail, long and short.
Ss: Tail, tail, tail, long and short.

Ⅲ.Post-task activities
出示挂图,让学生扮演其中的一个小动物作 自我介绍。教师可以先给出几个难易不同的例
子,以便不同能力的学生模仿。如:
Dog: Hi! I am a dog. My ears are big. My tail is short.
Rabbit: Hello! I am a rabbit. My ears are long. My tail is short.

Mouse: Good morning. I am a mouse. I am small. I am fat. My ears are short. My
tail is long.
Cat: Hi! I am a cat. I am big and fat. My ears are small. My tail is long. My eyes
are big. I am beautiful.
2.学生分组活动。每个学生画一种动 物,然后扮演动物并说几句话作自我介绍,让其他
学生猜测。猜对的学生可以得到相应的图画作奖励。
S1: (mime hopping) I am small. My eyes are small. My ears are long. My mouth is small. What
am I?
S2: Are you a dog?
S1: No, I am not.
S3: Are you a rabbit?
S1: Yes, I am.
