Amy’s taller than Lingling(说课稿)
Today, what I will present here is
Amy’s taller than
Lingling.,
Unit one Module one .
New Standard English book four
.
My presentation is based on the text ,teaching aims ,important
points or difficult points,teaching methods and learning
methods ,teaching processes and teaching summary.

The module focuses on helping students to understand the
Comparative degree. By using the knowledge to describe person
around them with they learn in class.
2. Teaching aims:
a.The pupils can understand and say the dialogues in this unit.
And They can have a free talk according to them.
pupils can grasp the comparative degrees of the
adjectives and use them freely in real life.
c. The pupils can grasp the words ------than old young strong
in spoken and written Englis
3 Teaching important and difficult points:
a. The changes of the words.
b. The mastery of the pattern drills.
For example: Sam is stronger than Lingling.
Amy is taller than Lingling.

Task-based methods is adopted with students activity and
cooperation under the students guidance students will improve
in English. In order to make full of the students imitation
lesson is designed like this .First teachers will
give a module;Second,students learn after the teachers;
Last,the students will have a students will have
a chance to practice English well.
5.Teaching procedure:
Step 1
Greetings:The teacher says hello to everybody.
T: Hello ! Boys and girls !


Ss: Hello ! Mr. Qin!
T: How are you ?
Ss: I’m fine ,thank you ! And how are you ?
T: I’m fine ,too .Nice to meet you !
Ss: Nice to meet you ,too !
Step 2
TV and say out the following words quickly.
old tall short high hard long short
talk:
S1:What’s your name?
S2:My name is …
S3:How old are you?
S4:I’m ten.
T(to S5):How old are you ?
S5:I’m ten.
T(to S6):How old are you?
S6:I’m eleven.
T:S6 is older than S5.
Step 3
Learn the new knowledge.
TV and learn the changes of the comparative degrees of
the adjectives.
old---older tall--- taller short---shorter long---longer
high--- higher short---shorter hard---harder
b. Learn to say the new words:
than old young strong
c. Learn to say the new pattern drills.
Teacher point to two students one is tall other is short.
S1 is nine years old. S2 is ten years old.
S2 is older than S1.
S1 is younger than S2.
S1 is taller than S2.
S2 is shorter than S1.


Then present some new long short tall old
young,student practice new sentence with them.
Maths is harder than Chinese.
The pencil is longer than the pen.
Pupil A is shorter than Pupil B.
Pupil C is taller than Pupil D.
Pupil A is older than Pupil B.
Pupil B is younger than Pupil A.
d. Let’s learn the dialogue in Unit One.
(1) Watch TV and listen to the dialogue.
(2) Read the dialogue after the recorder one sentence by one
sentence.
(3) Listen and point.
(4) Listen , point and read.
Step 4
Chant:students and teacher read the sentence again and again:
Old older: Sam is older than Lingling.
Young younger: Amy is younger than Lingling.
Strong stronger: Sam is stronger than Daming.
Step 5
game. For example:
The teacher says:Amy’s taller than Lingling.
A pupil says:Lingling is shorter than Amy.
and so on .
Step 6
Do the exercises in class. Listen, look, point and say.

Let’s sum up what we have learned today.
Today we studied some new words and the comparative degree of
we sould master the Sentence:

Activity 1
Greetings:The teacher says hello to everybody.

Ss: Hello ! Miss Xie!
T: How are you ?
Ss: I’m fine ,thank you ! And how are you ?
T: I’m fine ,too .Nice to meet you !
Ss: Nice to meet you ,too !
Activity 2
Sing and do the actions. The song is Chinese>
(The pupils put up the flags of different countries as they
sing.)

Revision:


TV and say out the following words quickly.

talk:

(师边说边板书并让学生观察old这个词 有什么变化。并告诉学生
than这个词的词义并读之。学生自己就可以理解本句的意思。导入
新课)

long---longer
high---higher short--- shorter(短的) hard---harder
(朗读并注意观察形容词比较等级的变化形式)
b. Learn to say the new words.
than old young strong
( 学会读了之后让学生把old young strong 变成比较级再在电视屏
幕上呈现:old ---older young---younger strong---stronger )
c. Learn to say the new pattern drills.
(师指两个一高一矮的学生说)
S1 is nine years old. S2 is ten years old.
S2 is older than S1.


S1 is younger than S2.
S1 is taller than S2.
S2 is shorter than S1.
(师在电视屏幕上呈现 以下形容词让学生小组合作操练此句型。学生
自然会得出类似以下形式的句子。)

师说出以下句子,让学生快速反应说出相反的句子:

Pupil C is shorter than Pupil D.
Pupil E is younger than Pupil F.

Let’s do the exercises in class.(课堂活动用书)

Let’s sum up what we have learned in this period.
师说:今天这节课我们学习了形容词的比较级。如果把形容词变成
比较级应该怎么变-------- 学生齐声说加---er。
另外我们还要掌握这个句型:Amy’s taller than Lingling.
Homework:
Make sentences as many as possible using the pattern of ‘Amy’s
taller than Lingling.’
