【Teaching procedures】
Step 1. Greetings and lead–in.
1) Have greetings as usual.
2) Show the shadow of the duck

mysteriously.
【设计意图】通过简单的问候拉近师生距离,学习本课单词shadow, 引
出文本。
Step 2 Presentation &Practice
1)Listen and answer
Q1: Who’s in the story? Yes, an old tree and a little duck. I am older than
you. Can you say more about them? (The tree is …than the duck. The duck
is …than the tree.)
2) Read the story by Selves, and underline the answers.
3) Answer the questions, and draw the shadow of Little Duck. Let students
know the relationship between the sunlight and the shadow.
4)Read the story in different ways.
5) Make some sentences with some hints.

【设计意图】通过文本学 习引申至科学现象,通过画出鸭子的影子,
使学生感知光线和影子的关系。
Step 3 Consolidation
1)Role play (Chinese Shadow Play)
【设计意图】用中国传统的皮影戏表演小故事。在表演过程中使学生
进一步感知光与影的关系。
2) Make a science report
【设计意图】通过自己画出不同时间 人的影子,让学生自己总结光与
影的关系,引导学生运用比较级的知识完成科学报告。
Step 4 Extension
Let the students think the question: if you are the old tree, what’s your
answer?
【设计意图】发散学生的思维,同时是对情感目标的提升和检验。
Step 5. Homework
the story with emotion, try to imitate the pronunciation and
intonation. (有感情地朗读这个故事,试着模仿语音语调。)
