【辨析】wish和hope的区别:
wish表示“希望”(大多难以实现或与事实相反)
,往往带有“祝愿”意味。而hope表
示的“想”和“希望”是可以实现的。
hope后不能接动名词作宾语,也不能用hope sb. to do
sth.结构。它们后面可以接从句。
如:我想见你们的家长。__________________________
但愿我能像鸟一样飞。________________________

(本句表示有可能实现的一种希望,can不能用could代替。)

英语时间通常用以下两种方式表达:
1.顺读表达法:
1) 整点表达法:
用“基数词+o’ clock”来表示整点,(o’ clock要用单数),当然“o’
clock”也可省略不写。
例: 十一点钟: eleven o’ clock
十二点钟: twelve o’ clock
2) 非整点表达法:用“基数词
按钟点+分钟”的顺序直接写出时间。(与整点表达法不同的
是结尾无需加o’clock)
例: 九点十分: nine ten
八点四十分:
eight forty
2.倒读表达法
1)
用“分钟+past+钟点”来表示:(“past”是介词,意思是“过”)
条件:分钟数少于或等于30分。
例:七点二十分:
twenty past seven
三点十二分:twelve past
three
2) 用“(60分钟-原分钟数) + to +
(原钟点数+1)”来表示:(“to”是介词,意思是“差”)
条件:原分钟数大于30分。
例:二点五十分 ten to three 意思是三点差十分。(其中的分钟数ten是由6
0分减去原
分钟数五十分得到的,钟点数three是由原来的钟点数2加1得到的)
七点四十二分: eighteen to eight
注:
1.当分钟数为15时,可用 a quarter (一刻钟)表示。
如:十点十五分:
a quarter past ten
三点四十五分: a quarter
to four
当分钟数为30时,可用 half (半)表示。
如:五点三十分:
half past five
一点半: half past one
(在直接表达法中,十五分钟不能用a quarter 表示,只能用基数词fifteen表示,
三十分
钟不能用half表示,只能用基数词thirty来表示)
2.若想表明所说时间是上午,只需在时间后加上am。
如:It’s six
thirty am. (现在是早上六点三十分)
若想表达下午,只需在时间后加上pm。
如:It’s six thirty pm. (现在是下午六点三十分)
3.如果表达的时间不是很精确,可以时间前加about(大约)
如:It’s
about seven o’clock (现在大约七点钟)
4.在时间前面应用介词“at”表示“在”
