Knowledge points:

thin…
2. Know sentence pattern: My friend is strong. He has short hair…..
Ability points:
1. After this class, students will be able to understand, say and use
sentences: “My friend is strong. He has short hair…..”
2. Be able to describe a person by what learnt.
Moral point:
Let students know the importance of making friends.

1. The meaning of “best friend”.
2. The difference: I have a pencil. He has a ruler.
3. The plural of “hair”: it is not “hairs” but “hair”.
4. Pronunciation of “quiet”---[kwaiet],not [kwait]. Help students
understand the meaning of this word by gestures.
5. Use “strong” to describe a person who is a bit fat.

Step 1--- warm up(Guess!)[5 minutes]
1. It's so big. It has a long nose and a short tail. What is it? (An
elephant)
2. It's small. It has two long ears. What is it? (A rabbit)
Teacher presents the pictures of monkey and rabbit, lead students to
say:The monkey has a long tail. The rabbit has a short tail.
Teacher presents the pictures of giraffe and deer to lead students to
say:It's tall. It's short.
Step 2--- preview [2 minutes]
Review the words: tall, short, long big, small… learnt in ” Let’s do”
of unit 6 part A last term.
Group work:
tall---short short---long big---small
Step 3---presentation [18 minutes]

Presentation of the new words
1. Teacher presents the pictures of Chen Jie and Amy and make
dialogues:
T: Who is she?
Sts answer: Chen Jie Amy.
T:

She has long hair short hair.
T: Chen Jie and Amy are friends. They are friends.
Teacher presents the words cards and teaches: long hair, short hair ,
friends.

Teacher presents the pictures of Sarah and Miss White, making
dialogues:
T: Who is she?
Sts answer: Sarah Miss White.
T:

She has long hair.
She has short hair.
3. Teacher points two of the students and says: “She is thin. He is
strong” by presenting the word cards:
thin , srong.
Pay attention to the pronunciation of “thin”.
4. Teacher shows students the pictures of Zhang Peng and Mr.
Black
, leads students to say:
---Zhang Peng is strong.
--- Mr. Black is thin.

6. Teacher makes the gesture of “Be quiet!”

Let students say the
word: “quiet”

by presenting the word card quiet .
7. Sentences in the text: “My friend is strong. He has short hair….”
“Who is he?” Let students guess who he is.---- He is Zhang Peng.
8. Listen to the tape, students read after the tape.
