new york and beijing are different city between eastern and
western, but both of them are become a cosmopolis in the
world. now i want to introduce them for you.
new york city is the largest city and the largest commercial
port of the united states. it is also the worlds economic center,
was hailed as the “capital of world”, which located in the
southeastern of the state of new york. according to the results
of the latest census in 2010, new yorks urban population is
about 817 million people, so it is the largest city in the united
states; for more than a century, new york city has been the
worlds most important commercial and financial center. new
york city is a metropolis of globalization, and the most
important world-class city, even it impact the global media,
politics, education, entertainment, and fashion directly. new
york and london, paris, tokyo are known as the worlds four
major cosmopolitan city. new york city is located in the largest
metropolitan area in the world - the heart of the greater new
york metropolitan area, which is the international economic,
financial, transportation, arts and media center, and even it is
regarded as the representative of urban civilization. as the
headquarters of united nations is in the city, so it is hailed as
the capital of the world. many world-class museums, galleries
and performing arts venues are located in new york city ,
which making it one of the cultural and entertainment center of
the western hemisphere. because of the 24-hours operation of
subway and the uninterrupted crowd, new york is also known
as city that never sleeps .
then, lets know about beijing.
beijing is the capital of china and one of the most populous
cities in the world. it located in northern of china, is governed
as a direct-controlled municipality under the national
government. it contains 14 urban and suburban districts and
two rural counties. beijing is surrounded by hebei province
with the exception of neighboring tianjin. beijing is chinas
second largest city by urban population after shanghai, and is
the countrys political, cultural, and educational center, also the
home to the headquarters for most of chinas largest state-
owned companies. beijing is a major transportation hub in the
national highway, expressway, railway and high-speed rail.
beijing capital international airport is the second busiest in the
world .there are few cities have been the centre of political and
cultural area as immense for so long in the world. beijing is
one of the four great ancient capitals of china. it has been the
heart of china’s history for centuries, and there is scarcely a
major building of any age in beijing that does not have some
national historical significance. the city is renowned for its
opulent palaces, temples, and huge stone walls and gates. its
art treasures and universities have made it a centre of culture
and art in china till now.
